Love Madness DeathThe mesmeric Narrative of Edgar Allan Poe(Year: 2025) Edgar Allan Poe – a name that almost everyone knows. Even more than two hundred years after his death, his stories are still very popular and widely read. Unfortunately, he himself did not live to see his fame. In his day, he was notorious as a poor alcoholic, and even though the severity of his seizures was probably due to illness, society lacked understanding for him during his lifetime. This album takes you through his tragic life and his works, which are marked by love, madness, and death. Throughout his life, he suffered from poverty, the loss of loved ones (mostly of tuberculosis), his bouts of madness, alcohol addiction, and a society that, with the exception of a few friends and relatives, viewed him with disgust rather than goodwill. It was only shortly before his death that he finally achieved the success his magnificent poem “The Raven” deserved in terms of its literary quality. Due to his long suffering, the darkness of this album is even blacker than that of its predecessors in the “Opium Trilogy.” There are also dreamy, adventurous, and happy passages, but most of the music remains gloomy, sad, and threatening. In addition to many different songs, the album naturally also contains instrumental pieces and, for the first time, short radio play scenes. Length: 158 min. |
